At the Arizona Fallen Hero Memorial Riders (AZFHMR), our mission to honor the fallen and support their families relies on the strength of our community—and that means people like you.

Volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Whether you’re helping at an event, assisting behind the scenes, or offering your time and skills to support families in crisis, your contribution makes a lasting impact. When you volunteer with AZFHMR, you become part of a family committed to respect, remembrance, and real action.

Serving With Trust, Integrity, and Respect
The Arizona Fallen Hero Memorial Riders (AZFHMR) takes great pride in maintaining a trusted and respectful environment for the families we serve and the communities we support. Because many of our volunteer roles involve close interaction with the public and with families of fallen heroes, we follow a thoughtful and professional vetting process for all volunteers.

Our Process Includes:
Application Review - Every prospective volunteer must complete a brief application form detailing their interests, experience, and availability.

Background Check - To ensure the safety and integrity of our mission, all volunteers must pass a basic background screening. This helps us confirm that those serving alongside us align with our standards of conduct and responsibility.

Reference Check (if needed) - Depending on the volunteer role, we may request personal or professional references to verify your experience, reliability, and character.

Orientation & Code of Conduct - Approved volunteers will attend a short orientation—virtual or in person—where we review AZFHMR’s mission, expectations, privacy guidelines, and our code of respectful conduct.

Role-Specific Training - If your volunteer role involves working directly with families, event coordination, or representing AZFHMR at public functions, additional guidance or training may be provided.

Why Vetting Matters
We serve Gold Star families, first responders, and individuals who have experienced profound loss and trauma. Vetting ensures that every volunteer is prepared to serve with professionalism, compassion, and integrity. It also protects our mission, our events, and the sacred trust our families place in us.

Confidentiality & Respect
All information shared during the application and vetting process is treated with strict confidentiality. We do not share your personal data, and we will always communicate transparently throughout the process.
